As usually taught in the Hanafi school (Bangladesh, India, Pakistan). Witr is wajib in the Hanafi school; the other schools pray it as a Sunnah and count some optional prayers differently.
Times are worked out for Khagrachhari (23.1193°, 91.9847°) from the sun’s position with the Islamic Foundation Bangladesh method. Start times are rounded up to the minute and sunrise down, so they never come early. Sehri and Iftar use the Islamic Foundation’s safety margins, the same as the Ramadan Calendar. Your mosque’s jamaat times are usually a little later.

About the Prayer Times
Prayer Times shows today’s five daily prayers for your district or city, with when each one ends, a live countdown to the next prayer and the sun’s path across the day. It also gives Sehri and Iftar, Ishraq, Chasht, the middle and last third of the night for Tahajjud, the three forbidden times, a rakat guide and a printable timetable for the whole month. Use your location for the exact times where you are, anywhere in the world.
How to use it
- 1 Pick your district or city, or press Use my location.
- 2 Read today’s times on the five arches; the current prayer is marked and the countdown shows the next one.
- 3 Turn on the Azan reminder to get a notification at each prayer while the page is open.
- 4 Scroll to the monthly timetable and press Print, or change the calculation method in Calculation settings.
Frequently asked questions
How are the prayer times worked out?
From the sun’s position at your place. Fajr begins when the sun is a set angle below the horizon before dawn (18° in Bangladesh), Dhuhr just after the sun passes its highest point, Asr when a shadow reaches its noon length plus once (Shafi’i) or twice (Hanafi) the object’s height, Maghrib at sunset and Isha when twilight ends.
Which calculation method should I use?
Use the one your country or mosque follows. The page picks it for you: Islamic Foundation (18°, Hanafi Asr) in Bangladesh, Karachi in India and Pakistan, Umm al-Qura in Saudi Arabia, ISNA in North America, the Muslim World League in much of Europe, and so on. You can change it under Calculation settings and the choice is remembered.
Why is Asr later in the Hanafi school?
In the Hanafi school Asr begins when a shadow is twice an object’s height (plus its noon shadow); in the Shafi’i, Maliki and Hanbali schools, once its height. That makes Hanafi Asr about 45 minutes to an hour later.
When is the best time for Tahajjud?
Tahajjud can be prayed any time after Isha until Fajr, ideally after some sleep, but the last third of the night is best. The page shows when the last third begins, counting the night from sunset to Fajr.
What are the forbidden times for prayer?
No prayer is offered while the sun is rising (until about 15 minutes after sunrise), at its highest point just before Dhuhr (Zawal), and while it sets (the last 15 minutes or so before Maghrib). The page lists today’s three periods.
Why are these times different from my mosque?
Mosques print the time each prayer begins, as here, but hold the jamaat a little later, and some add a few minutes of safety margin. Use your mosque’s jamaat times for congregation.
Does it work outside Bangladesh?
Yes. Pick one of the world cities or press Use my location, and the times are worked out for your exact place and time zone with your country’s usual method. In the far north, where twilight lasts all night in summer, Fajr and Isha follow the high-latitude rule you choose.
