Bijoy to Unicode Converter
Convert Bangla between Bijoy (SutonnyMJ) and Unicode, both ways. Paste from Word and only the text in a Bijoy font is converted, so English words stay as they are. Nothing leaves your browser.
Unicode Bangla works on Facebook, Gmail, Google Docs, websites and every phone.
Shown in SutonnyMJ from your computer. SutonnyMJ isn’t installed here, so you see the raw Bijoy letters. They turn into Bangla in Word once set to SutonnyMJ. Copy pastes into Word already set to SutonnyMJ.

- 3 Press Copy, or download it as a text file, and paste it where you need it.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Bijoy and Unicode?
Bijoy stores Bangla as English letters and symbols that the SutonnyMJ font draws as Bangla, so the text only looks right with that font. Unicode gives every Bangla letter its own code, so it shows correctly on any phone, computer or website, and search engines can read it.
Why does my Bangla text show as “Avwg evsjvq”?
The text was typed with Bijoy in a font such as SutonnyMJ, and the app you pasted it into does not use that font. Convert it to Unicode and it will show as normal Bangla everywhere.
Will English words in my Word file get converted too?
Not when you paste straight from Word or Google Docs. The converter reads the font of each piece of text and only converts the parts in a Bijoy font such as SutonnyMJ, so English words, numbers and names in Times New Roman or Arial stay as they are. Plain text has no font information, so in that case everything is converted.
Which Bijoy fonts are supported?
All ANSI Bijoy fonts that use the standard Bijoy layout, including SutonnyMJ, SutonnyOMJ, TonnyMJ and the other “MJ” fonts, plus ANSI fonts such as Kalpurush ANSI. The glyph table was checked against SutonnyMJ itself.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs in your browser, so your text never leaves your device. It also works offline once the page has loaded.
Can I convert Unicode back to Bijoy?
Yes. Use the Unicode to Bijoy converter on the same page. Its Copy button pastes into Word already set in SutonnyMJ.
