About the Gold Price Calculator
The gold price calculator shows the latest BAJUS rate per vori and works out the price of any weight of gold in vori, ana, rati or grams. It adds the jeweller’s making charge (mojuri) and 5% VAT, so you can check a bill before you buy, and gives the price per gram.

How many grams is 1 vori of gold?
1 vori (bhori) is 11.664 grams. It is split into 16 ana, and each ana into 6 rati, so 1 ana is about 0.729 grams and 1 rati about 0.1215 grams.
How is the price of gold jewellery worked out in Bangladesh?
Gold value = weight in vori × the price per vori. BAJUS sets a minimum 6% making charge on top, and the government charges 5% VAT on the gold value plus making charge. So 1 vori at ৳2,00,000 costs ৳2,00,000 + ৳12,000 + ৳10,600 = ৳2,22,600.
What is the price of 1 ana gold?
Divide the price per vori by 16. At ৳2,24,182 per vori for 22 karat, 1 ana is about ৳14,011 before making charge and VAT.
What is the difference between 22, 21 and 18 karat gold?
22 karat is 91.6% pure gold, 21 karat 87.5% and 18 karat 75%. Traditional (sanaton) gold is older jewellery that is priced lower. Purer gold costs more per vori.
How often does the gold price change in Bangladesh?
BAJUS changes it whenever the local price of pure (tejabi) gold moves, sometimes several times a month. The calculator shows the date of the rate it uses, and you can type a newer rate.
