QR Code Generator

QR codes for links, Wi-Fi, contacts, email, SMS, WhatsApp and places. Add your colours and logo, then download a sharp PNG or SVG. Free, no sign-up, never expires.

Made in your browser, never uploaded

Want to change where it goes after printing? Make a short link first and put that in the code.

Shorter text makes a simpler code that scans from further away.

Phones join when they scan it: the iPhone camera and Android camera both support this. The password is only in the code, never saved by us.

Saved as a vCard 3.0, which iPhone and Android contacts both open. Fill in only what you need: every field makes the code denser.

Include the country code (+…) so it works for visitors from abroad.

In Google Maps, right-click a place and click the numbers at the top to copy its coordinates.

The blank border scanners need. 4 is the standard.

Logo (optional)

A square logo with a plain background works best. It stays on your device.

SVG stays sharp at any size: best for print. Always test-scan before you print.

About the QR Code Generator

A QR code stores a link or text as a square pattern that phone cameras can scan. This generator makes static codes for links, Wi-Fi logins, contact cards, email, SMS, calls, WhatsApp chats and map locations. They are made in your browser and never expire.

How to use it

  1. 1 Choose what the code should do: open a link, join Wi-Fi, save a contact, and so on.
  2. 2 Fill in the details, then pick colours, dot and corner shapes, and add a logo or caption if you like.
  3. 3 Download a PNG or SVG and test-scan it with your phone before printing.

Frequently asked questions

Do these QR codes expire?

No. They are static codes with the content stored inside them, so they work for as long as the link they point to works. There is no account, tracking or monthly fee.

Can I change the link after printing?

Not with a static code. To change the destination later, put a short link you control in the code, such as one from our URL Shortener, and update where the short link goes.

How does a Wi-Fi QR code work?

It stores the network name, security type and password in a standard format. Point an iPhone or Android camera at it and tap the prompt to join, with no typing. The password is only in the code; it is not sent to us or saved.

Will a logo stop my QR code from scanning?

Not if it is small. When you add a logo the tool switches to High error correction, which lets about 30% of the code be damaged and still read, and keeps the logo to about 5% of the area. Always test-scan before printing.

Which colours scan best?

A dark code on a light background, with a contrast ratio of at least 4:1. Light-on-dark (inverted) codes and pale colours fail on many phones; the tool warns you about both.

PNG or SVG?

SVG is a vector file that stays sharp at any size, so use it for print and design tools. PNG works everywhere else; 1024 px is plenty for screens and documents, 2048 px or more for print.

What size should a printed QR code be?

At least 2 × 2 cm (0.8 × 0.8 in) for close scanning. For a poster read from a distance, make it about one tenth of the scanning distance, and keep the blank quiet zone around it.
