Attendance Calculator

Work out your attendance percentage, how many classes you must attend to reach 75%, and how many you can miss and still stay above it.

Required attendance

Attendance by subject

Track each subject separately, since many colleges check attendance per subject.

About the Attendance Calculator

The attendance calculator works out your attendance percentage from the classes you attended and the classes held. If you are below the required percentage, it tells you how many classes in a row you must attend to get back to it; if you are above it, how many you can miss. Add the classes left this term to plan the rest of the semester, and track each subject separately.

How to use it

  1. 1 Enter the classes you attended and the classes held.
  2. 2 Pick the required attendance, such as 75%.
  3. 3 Optionally add the classes left this term.
  4. 4 Read your percentage and how many classes you can miss or must attend.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate attendance percentage?

Divide the classes you attended by the classes held and multiply by 100. 42 out of 60 classes is 42 ÷ 60 × 100 = 70%.

How many classes do I need to attend to get 75%?

Attend x more classes in a row, where x = (0.75 × held − attended) ÷ 0.25, rounded up. With 30 of 50, x = (37.5 − 30) ÷ 0.25 = 30 classes.

How many classes can I bunk and stay at 75%?

You can miss y classes in a row, where y = (attended − 0.75 × held) ÷ 0.75, rounded down. With 45 of 50, y = (45 − 37.5) ÷ 0.75 = 10 classes.

Why is 75% attendance required?

Many universities and colleges, including those following UGC and AICTE rules in India and most universities in Bangladesh, need 75% attendance to sit the final exam. Some allow 65–70% with a medical certificate. Check your institution’s rules.

Can I check attendance for each subject?

Yes. Add subjects to see each one’s percentage and status, plus your overall attendance.
