About the JSON-LD Schema Generator
JSON-LD is a small block of code in your page that tells search engines and AI assistants exactly what the page is about: a product and its price, a recipe and its cooking time, a business and its opening hours. Pick a type, fill in the form, and copy the finished script tag into your page. The checker tests your markup, or markup you paste from any page, against the properties Google requires and recommends, and catches the usual mistakes such as relative image URLs, prices with currency signs, and dates without a time zone.
How to use it
- 1 Choose a schema type, such as Product, Article, or Local Business, or click Fill example to see a finished one.
- 2 Fill in the form. Required fields for Google come first in the checks below the code, which update as you type.
- 3 Copy the script tag into the <head> or <body> of your page, then confirm it with Google's Rich Results Test.
Frequently asked questions
What is JSON-LD?
JSON-LD (JSON for Linked Data) is the format Google recommends for structured data. It is a <script type="application/ld+json"> tag holding a JSON object that uses schema.org types and properties, such as "@type": "Product" with a "name" and "offers". It sits apart from your visible HTML, so you can add it without changing your page design.
Where do I put JSON-LD code?
Anywhere in the page HTML, in the <head> or the <body>. Google also reads JSON-LD that JavaScript adds after the page loads. In WordPress, use a header and footer code plugin or your SEO plugin's custom schema field; in Shopify, edit the product template. Add one script tag per type, or several types in one @graph.
Does schema markup improve rankings?
Not directly. Structured data makes your page eligible for rich results, such as stars, prices, recipe cards, and event listings, which can raise clicks. It also helps Google and AI assistants understand and cite your content. The markup must describe what people can see on the page.
Which schema types still get rich results in Google?
Article, Product, Local Business, Organization logos, Breadcrumb, Event, Recipe, Video, Job Posting, Software App, review snippets, and site names all still work. Google shows FAQ rich results only for well-known government and health sites, and it has retired HowTo and several smaller types. Other search engines and AI tools still read all of them.
Why do I need a time zone on dates?
A start time such as 2027-03-14T19:00 without an offset is ambiguous, so Google may show the wrong time or ignore it. Add the UTC offset, for example 2027-03-14T19:00+06:00 for Bangladesh. The generator adds the time zone you pick to every date and time.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. The markup is built and checked in your browser. Nothing you type or paste is uploaded.
